PSI lunches “Future of ISIS.. After Fall of It’s Leaders” Conference
The Politics and Society Institute in cooperation with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung / Jordan Office, launches the “Future of ISIS After the Fall of its Leaders” conference project, 17th – 18th June 2021, aiming to highlight the major transformations of ISIS, and assessing its future of and similar jihadist organizations using academic measures and approaches.
With the participation of long experienced researchers, The project revolves around publishing five research papers about the topics:
o Legacy of ISIS, the returnees’ threat on their origin societies, and opportunities of “ISIS born” generation inclusion
o The geographical spread of the organization globally, and the extent to which it was affected by the collapse of the “caliphate”
o Reviewing counter-terrorism strategies in the world
o Assessing the status quo of the central organization in Iraq and Syria
o The future of regulation in light of the shift in international and regional politics
o Ideology, propaganda, and recruitment after the collapse of the caliphate.
The papers will be discussed in a closed online conference, with experts from around the world prior to publishing them in a book.
