She assumed top level leadership, management , and professional positions at national and United Nations organization bodies including: advisor to Her Majesty Queen Rania Abdulla of Jordan on public health and children, WHO/ UNFPA regional advisor on reproductive health, vice president of the MENA Health Policy Forum, president of the IDB Group Women Advisory Panel, vice president of the OIC Women Consultative Council, president of the EU Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Expert Committee, secretary general of Jordan National Council for Family Affairs, secretary general Jordan Higher Population Council, first woman Dean of the School of Medicine at the University of Jordan and director of UNICEF Jordan Country Program.
She won a number of regional and international awards for applied scientific research in public health and has many published scientific work.

Ali has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California and an MBA from INSEAD.
