SiyasoMeter Project

The SiyasoMeter project, implemented by the Politics and Society Institute in collaboration with the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, aims to cultivate a more open public space within universities for political engagement and alignment. The project focuses on enabling students to identify their political orientations within the main political currents and enhancing their capacity for political and partisan participation both on campus and within their local communities.

The project targets students in the following universities:
The University of Jordan, Yarmouk University, Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Jordan University of Science and Technology, Mutah University, The Hashemite University, Al al-Bayt University, Al-Balqa’ Applied University, Tafila Technical University, and Al-Hussein Bin Talal University.

It stems from the belief in the importance of designing and developing youth-focused programs—especially for university students—and in monitoring and analyzing youth political trends using a variety of scientific tools and methodologies.

:The project is implemented through the following core methodologies

  • Awareness-raising and knowledge-building
  • Focus group discussions to explore and interpret the orientations of the target audience
  • Training and capacity-building to enhance skills
  • Dialogues and debates
  • Simulation exercises

Through this initiative, we aim to activate meaningful political engagement within universities, foster a generation of empowered young political leaders capable of peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, and encourage greater political participation. The project also supports students in developing and proposing innovative, politically driven initiatives that contribute to the democratic process on campus, while strengthening their abilities to design and manage media and issue-based electoral campaigns. Ultimately, the project seeks to identify and nurture a new generation of political leaders.
