Non-Resident Researcher at the Politics and Society Institute (PSI), where his research focuses on Iraqi affairs, Islamist movements and groups, and Middle East politics. He has edited several research publications, including "The Hawza and the State: Shiite Islam, Questions of Authority, Women, and Geopolitics". He is also a co-author of "Islamists in Jordan: Religion, State, and Society". He is a member of the "Religious Communities and Non-State Actors in the Middle East (RC-NSAME) Research Group", a joint research initiative of the PSI and the University of Jordan.
