Partisan Members in Local Councils

Politics and Society Institute and the King Abdullah II Fund for Development Launch a New Project
The Politics and Society Institute, in partnership with the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, has launched a new project aimed at enhancing the capacities of partisan members in governorate and municipal councils to implement their service-oriented programs within the broader framework of their party agendas.
The project targets 45 partisan members of governorate and municipal councils across the Kingdom, aiming to strengthen their ability to implement local development plans during their electoral term. It also seeks to raise public awareness of the vital role these partisan members play in driving local development, promoting good governance, and contributing to decision-making processes at the local level.
The project aspires to strengthen the role of political parties by supporting the development of future programs for local governance and encouraging candidacy and elections based on these programs—toward building modern, well-serviced, and inclusive cities. It also focuses on budget planning for governorates and municipalities, including gender-responsive budgeting and budget auditing.
planning, project management, and the development of local development strategies aligned with community needs and the priorities of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It will also work to build the target group’s capacity in communication, digital media, and the ability to reflect their developmental and partisan agendas through digital media messaging.
