The Abdullah Al-Jabour Program for Empowering Political Minds
This program reflects our vision to empower and develop youth, aiming to enhance their role in public life and equip them with the necessary skills and tools to succeed in the labor market amid the digital transformation and the rise of artificial intelligence. It also seeks to enable them to propose creative ideas and practical solutions that address local and regional challenges in the political, economic, and social spheres. The program aspires to bolster their role in politics and society within a framework of national values that promote a culture of moderation, the rule of law, good governance, and the advancement of democratic life.
At the Politics and Society Institute, we are proud to offer this program free of charge to students and graduates, reaffirming that there are no application or participation fees. We are deeply committed to empowering youth and strengthening their capacities to become active agents in political and social processes, relying not solely on external funding. This initiative reflects our dedication to fulfilling national aspirations through the smart and effective use of our limited resources.
We believe in the importance of developing the skills and capacities of youth as a creative and innovative generation. We strive to provide an interactive educational and training environment that enables them to reach their full potential in the face of contemporary challenges. Our strength lies in our reliance on internal resources and our ability to draw on national and regional expertise to deliver a distinctive and high-quality program.
Moreover, we hope this experience will be a valuable opportunity for participants to broaden their horizons and contribute to building a better future.
General Objective
The program primarily aims to empower students and graduates of political science—as well as those from the humanities and social sciences more broadly—by developing the knowledge and skills required to align with the needs and demands of the Jordanian labor market in an era of digital transformation and artificial intelligence. It also seeks to enhance the political awareness of those active in public spaces.
About the Late Abdullah Al-Jabour
A researcher at the Politics and Society Institute and founder of the Muwatana Center, Abdullah Al-Jabour was a prominent young activist in civil society, with numerous studies and publications. He actively participated in the institute’s initiatives and outputs, including the field-based analytical study On the Threshold of Transformation: The State of Political Parties, as well as contributing to a chapter in The Hawza and the State. He played a vital role in many conferences and activities organized by the institute, and served as both trainer and contributor to several training manuals. He also launched a distinguished youth-focused online magazine titled Political Awareness.
In recognition of his efforts and to honor his memory, the Politics and Society Institute has named this program after him—especially as he was once part of its training team.
Application Process
The application process is simple and transparent. Interested university students and graduates—especially those from political science backgrounds—can apply by filling out the application form available on our website: www.politicsociety.com.
Once applications are received, a selection committee will review and interview candidates to identify the most qualified and suitable participants. Diversity and gender equity are key considerations in the selection process, which will admit 10 to 12 participants per program cycle based on clearly defined and merit-based criteria.
We emphasize the complete transparency of the selection process, where applications are evaluated against a clear and structured set of standards. Successful candidates will be notified officially upon the conclusion of the selection process.
To ensure equal opportunity for all, the program will be open for applications two to three times annually,
